Yom HaShoah Holocaust Remembrance Day 

In synagogues around the world, Jews get together to observe Yom HaShoah. Twenty years ago, at one synagogue I was a member of, we wrote actual prisoner numbers on our arms in black marker. 

For me, this deepened the experience and magnified the importance of remembering the horrendous murders of millions of Jews and others peoples during the Holocaust.
