Rosh HaShanah: Jewish New Year
There are about 30 days until Jewish New Year. It's a reflective time for Jewish people prior to the High Holy Days: known as Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur.
The shofar is blown every day now, through Rosh HaShana, until the final blast on Yom Kippur.
Reflection
The sound of the shofar wakes us up to take stock of our lives, and how we can make them better by doing good deeds.
Renewal
The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid? For in the day of troublehe will keep me safe in his dwelling;he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tentand set me high upon a rock.
Hope in the Lord and be strongTake courage, hope in the Lord.
I've added digital downloads to my shop. You can purchase a jewelry or kippah design and while you wait for that item to be mailed, you can download and print your Jewish New Year cards and get them ready to mail.
We strive to:
- Evaluate how we can be better people in our actions and behaviors
- Return to HaShem (G-d) to receive blessings in our life
- Seek forgiveness from friends and family before going to G-d
